with the Fire Safe Council!

Protect your home and family from wildfire season with a personalized assessment!

The San Diego County Fire Safe Council is offering FREE home assessments to help you make your property safer from wildfires. This program provides valuable insights and recommendations tailored to your specific home and landscaping.

What You Get:

  • 30-45 minute expert evaluation: A Fire Safe Council staff member will visit your home to assess its vulnerability to wildfires and ember ignition.
  • Personalized recommendations: Learn about creating defensible space zones, hardening your home for fire resistance, and optimizing your landscaping.
  • Actionable steps: Receive a detailed report with specific recommendations to improve your wildfire preparedness.
  • Free and confidential: There’s no obligation to implement the recommendations, and your information remains confidential.

How to Participate:

  1. Apply online: Visit www.firesafesdcounty.org/hap and complete the short application. Need help? Call 619-562-0096 for assistance.
  2. Schedule your assessment: After applying, confirm your appointment online or via email. Choose a date based on your zip code’s designated assessment days.
  3. Get your assessment: A Fire Safe Council representative will visit your home at the scheduled time to assess your property and answer your questions.
  4. Receive your report: Get a personalized report with specific recommendations to enhance your wildfire resilience.
