Scripps Ranch Fire Safe Council to Host 18th Annual Play to Protect Golf Tournament

The Scripps Ranch Fire Safe Council invites individuals and local businesses to join the 18th annual Play to Protect Golf Tournament on Saturday, October 18, at Oaks North Golf Course in Rancho Bernardo.

The fun begins with a 9:00 a.m. tee time at one of the community’s finest golf courses.

For nearly two decades, Play to Protect has been more than just a golf outing—it’s a community tradition that unites neighbors, businesses, and first responders to strengthen wildfire safety and preparedness in Scripps Ranch.

“Proceeds from the tournament support programs including community education, fuel reduction efforts, guidance on obtaining home risk assessments, and other initiatives designed to reduce wildfire danger,” said Kristi Rayder, President of the Fire Safe Council.

Rayder added, “Wildfire is a constant concern in Southern California. This tournament not only raises vital funds but also brings people together for a great day that directly benefits the safety of our community.”

Participants will enjoy 18 holes of golf, exciting prize drawings, and an awards luncheon. Golfers are welcome to register individually or as a team.
