July 2025 Newsletter
“Neighbors Helping Neighbors Stay Safe”
The Scripps Ranch Fire Safe Council sends a big thank you to the Scripps Ranch Civic Association for another unforgettable 4th of July Parade! We were honored to march alongside so many of you and proud to represent fire safety in our community.
July Spotlight: Stay Ready as Fire Season Heats Up
As temperatures rise and vegetation dries out, July marks a critical time for wildfire readiness in Southern California. Here’s how you can help protect your home and neighborhood:
*Trim trees and remove “ladder fuels”
*Clear gutters and rooftops of dry leaves and debris
*Double-check your family’s evacuation plan and go-bag
Need guidance? Free checklists and preparation tips are available at firesafesdcounty.org and srfiresafe.org.
We’re Your Neighbors — and We Need You!
The Fire Safe Council is made up of local volunteers just like you — and we’re looking for new members who care about protecting Scripps Ranch. You don’t need prior experience, just a desire to make a difference.
Ways to get involved:
· Help organize community events or educational outreach
· Join fuel reduction and scouting projects
· Share your skills in social media, logistics, or planning

Fuel Reduction in Action
We’ve started identifying key high-risk areas like canyon edges and escape routes for targeted fuel reduction. If you know a spot that looks overgrown or concerning, let us know. Community input is vital to keeping Scripps Ranch safe.
Help Us Grow the Network
Do you have a new neighbor? Forward this newsletter or invite them to visit our website. The more people who are informed and involved, the safer our entire community becomes.
Let’s stay cool, stay connected — and stay fire-aware.
