March 2022 News Letter

This lovely dry weather is a contributing factor to our threat of wildfires. SDG&E has again had to declare Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) for various reasons, primarily related to potential fire hazards. But they also offer some assistance for certain things during these times. For example, if you have a medical device that requires power and fit other criteria, it may be possible to get a small generator from them. You can find information on this on sdge.com/our-commitment-wildfire-safety. Some of the other items that might be obtained from them are transportation, welfare checkups and maybe food delivery if required. You can find more information on this on sdge.com/medicalbaseline. The county also has an access and functional needs assessment office to help with these items. Info at readysandiego.org/make-a-plan. It is your responsibility to have a plan for you and your family in case of fire or any other emergency. Put your plan together and make sure all of your family members are aware of the plan and know what to do and how to implement it.
